As the Lead Developer, your mission is to supervise, support and motivate a Web development team. You will work in an awesome environment in which your team’s objective will be to develop, design and maintain Web applications. This is a full-time permanent job opportunity in downtown Toronto.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day work of up to 4 developers delivering web based application, website, and other application project for our client
  • Conduct work planning and resource allocation, review code, coach and mentor your team on software development
  • Participate in business analysis, technical analysis and architecture design; lead developers and other stake holders to ensure excellent understanding of functional and non-functional requirements
  • Participate in s/w design sessions along with other stakeholders
  • Guide your developers to complete understanding of assigned features
  • Own assigned estimate requests and work with the team to provide such estimates in compliance with the defined process and time lines
  • Setup development structure, version control framework
  • Participate in business analysis, technical analysis and architecture design
  • Organize and weekly project meeting ensure project on track
  • Separate scenarios into distinct tasks and allocate them within the technical team, evaluate the workload and review estimates; plan, track and control web development;
  • Act as a technical resource for the web development team and guarantee the source code quality; review the code and maintain its standards
  • Take part in development tasks and assist your less-experienced peers
  • Produce written and verbal reports on the progress, the issues encountered and the steps taken in their resolution

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor in computer science or related
  • At least five (5) years of web based application development experience including two (2) as a technical lead
  • Excellent knowledge and hand on experience of PHP, MySQL, AJAX, JQuery, XML, HTML;
  • Excellent knowledge of Framework: LAMP
  • Excellent knowledge of web based application development, business flow deign and development
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Able to work with little to no supervision
  • Able to focus on the solution
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Leadership, team mentor and player
  • Agile development experience
