Our client is looking to hire a Senior Manager, Software Development. You will be responsible for leading multiple teams and will participate in detailed technical design, development and implementation of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms. Working within an Agile environment, you will actively participate in story planning and detailed daily standups, while providing input for architectural design decisions, and developing code to meet story acceptance criteria. You will have the opportunity to continuously develop technical knowledge and skills on multiple platforms, and educate team members on the capabilities and constraints of technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide functional, technical and process leadership for team(s) delivering on given initiatives
  • Builds strong partnerships with teams / organizations across multiple sites as needed to deliver on initiatives
  • Evaluates performance, including team input, and provides input, guidance, and corrective actions to associates
  • Addresses issues that teams cannot unblock, makes personnel change necessary
  • Listens and supports teams in problem identification, root cause analysis, and decision making
  • Participate in strategic planning and prioritization of long term engineering plans
  • Be close enough to the team to add value and be a competent manager, far away enough to let them problem solve on their own
  • Continuously assists in aligning teams to the business and program mission
  • Support multiple concurrent efforts and deliver in a fast paced dynamic environment
  • Has mastery over multiple business areas
  • Handles High Complexity, High Ambiguity tasks
  • Communicate effectively with technical and business team members as well as upper management
  • Foundational understanding and experience with Agile, Lean and/or SAFe methodologies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in fields such as Computer Science, Information Systems, and Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role
  • 5+ years of experience with application and/or data design, architecture and development
  • 10+ years of experience managing and supporting the full life-cycle of IT development projects
  • 10+ years of leading technical teams
  • 3+ years of experience with relevant software technologies and languages
  • Proven experience leading technology delivery teams
  • Proven experience in people management
  • 2+ years of experience with Agile development methodologies including Scrum and SAFe best practices
